Dale Hodges, 81, of Lakewood passed away peacefully Monday, April 18, 2016 at Shelby Memorial Hospital in Shelbyville. Dale was born April 11, 1935 the son of Otis and Gladys (Epps) Hodges. Dale lost his mother soon after birth and was blessed to have Faye Hodges assume the role of his mother. Dale married Ellen A. Byard on February 25, 1961. She passed away May 7, 2011. Dale worked at Caterpillar for 32 years and at the Super Wash in Shelbyville for 13 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a member of Tower Hill United Methodist Church and enjoyed traveling and antique cars. He is survived by three daughters Nancy (Dave) McClain of Shelbyville, Connie (Wayne) Dotson of Findlay, Rita (Cary) Bryson of Shelbyville; six grandchildren Coartney (Jeff Ayers) McClain of Humboldt, IL, Amanda McClain of Shelbyville, Brody and Connor Dotson of Findlay, Levi and Zachary Bryson of Shelbyville; two sisters Ermajean Eversole and Wilma Stremming both of Shelbyville; brother Larry (Karen) Hodges of Myrtle Beach, SC. Preceding him in death were his father, both mothers and his wife. Visitation will be Thursday, April 21, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. with funeral service on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 10 a.m. all at Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery.
