Ella Marie (Gelsinger) Lockart, 91, of Shelbyville, formerly of Vandalia, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 31, 2016 at 7:55 p.m. at the Shelby Manor in Shelbyville. She was born August 17, 1925 in Edwardsville, the daughter of William and Odean (Cripe) Gelsinger. She married Leslie Vance Lockart on January 19, 1951 in Shelbyville and he preceded her in death on March 9, 1996. For many years, she worked at the Morgan House Restaurant in Shelbyville. Ella was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.
Ella is survived by her children Randy Lockart of Vandalia, Cary Lockart of Shelbyville and Karen Corley of Lancaster, OH, four grandchildren Quintin Corley, Crystal Kopis, Jamie Lockart and Tyler Lockart, sisters Lois Finley of St. Elmo, Ruth Shipley of Mulberry Grove, Rosemary Case of Vandalia, Bernadine Rush of KY and Sherry Cervau, brothers William Gelsinger of Decatur, James Gelsinger of Centralia and Charles Gelsinger of Bluff City.
Preceding her in death are her parents, husband Vance, son Rowdy, sisters Flossie Johnson and Esther Willets.
Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 4, 2016 at Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Reverend Kevin Ray officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Burial will be at 12:00 noon on Friday, November 4, 2016 at the Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia.
