Ellen's Story

Ellen Kay Moreman, 67, of Shelbyville, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 7, 2017 with her children by her side. Ellen was born December 13, 1949, in Danville, the daughter of Lowell and Thelma (Pate) Calhoun. She worked at Kraft Foods in Mattoon, was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by her children: Paula (Gary) Henry of Salem, Crystal (Brock) Austin of Shelbyville and Ricky Lockhart of Vandalia; three grandchildren: Michael (Lauren) Yates of New Orleans, LA, Jamie Yates of Shelbyville and Nicholas Hoehn of Shelbyville; three great-grandchildren: Lindsay Yates of Pana, Jullian Yates of Shelbyville and Ella Claire Yates of New Orleans, LA; brothers Roy (Joann) Calhoun of Oakwood and David (Rosie) Calhoun of Tilton; sister Beverly (Norman) Spries of Danville. Preceding her in death were her parents and four brothers. A memorial service honoring and celebrating Ellens life will begin at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at Lockart-Green Funeral Home Shelbyville with Pastor Greg Breeden officiating. A gathering for friends and family will be Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Inurnment will take place at a later time.
