Glen E. McGlauchlen
Glen E. McGlauchlen, 71 of Dollville passed away Saturday, September 14, 2019 at his home. He was born December 2, 1947 in Winchester, IL to Charles & Leona (Gresham) McGlauchlen. He married Linda Freeman on March 26, 1971 in Springfield, IL and she survives.
Glen was a 1967 graduate of Divernon High School and then went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Pana Christian Church and worked as a Supervisor at International Paper. Glen was known for his great sense of humor and very forgiving nature. He was a hard worker, willing to lend a hand to anyone in need and never knew a stranger. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family more than anything.
Along with his wife, Glen is also survived by his children Brian (Kena) McGlauchlen, Pana, Molly (Timothy) Thompson, Cowden, Eric (Kendra) McGlauchlen, Dollville; grandchildren Dalton, Braydon, & Madison McGlauchlen, Ralph, Makayla, Elaina, & Nolan Thompson, Connor & Reagan McGlauchlen; siblings Sharon Wintjen, Baylis, IL, Bob McGlauchlen, Rosamond, Clayton McGlauchlen, Springfield, Allen McGlauchlen, Oconee, Dwight Smothers, Florida, Jeff Troutner, Shelbyville, MO, Pamela Millhizer, Arkansas; foster siblings John Kessler and William Kessler, Jr; and numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded by his parents Charles & Leona McGlauchlen; foster parents William & Dorothy Kessler; and siblings Roger McGlauchlen, Tim McGlauchlen, Karen McGlauchlen, and Mike McGlauchlen.
Funeral Services for Glen will be held Tuesday, September 17, 2019 in Pana Christian Church at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dave Altman officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Dollville with military rites accorded by the Pana Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 from 9:30 a.m. until time of the service at the church.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospital in Mattoon for the above and beyond care and service they provided.
Memorials made in Glen's honor may be made to Pana Christian Church or Pana Fellowship of Christian Athletes and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
