Helen E. Reed, 85, of Shelbyville passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at Shelbyville Manor with loved ones by her side. She was born March 31, 1931 in Neoga the daughter of John Jack and Francis (Cornwell) Reed. She married Carl C. Reed Jr. on July 25, 1953, he preceded her in death on April 14, 1987. Helen was retired from the Floral Boutique where she was a floral designer for many years. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Shelbyville.
Helen is survived by her children Deborah (Dennis) Steinmetz of Orlando, FL, Brenda (Kenneth) Reed-Weiss of Springfield and Richard W. (Janet) Reed of Morrisonville; stepchildren Nancy (Richard) Wheeler of Findlay, Samuel Lee (Cynthia) Reed of Mesa, AZ and Colleen (Robert) Cox of Findlay; sister Norma Vezain of Ottawa; 25 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother John Robert, sister Delores and one great-granddaughter Payton.
Funeral service will be Monday, September 12, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville with Pastor Greg Breeden officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Quad County Hospice.
