James Carviel Hale Jr., 61, of rural Shelbyville, died Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Carle Hospital, Champaign, IL. Celebration of Life Services will be Monday, November 28, 2016 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home, Windsor. Memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. Jim was born May 9, 1955 to James Carviel Hale Sr. and Virginia Nichols Hale in Decatur, IL. He married Becky Tice on October 24, 2002 in Shelby County. He retired from Norfolk and Western Railway Decatur, IL. Jim attended school at Windsor, IL. He is survived by his wife Becky of Shelbyville, his mother Virginia (Ginger) and Forrest Yakey of Effingham, IL, son James Donald Hale (Jamie) of Champaign, IL, daughter Jessica Tice of Shelbyville, granddaughter Hunter Hale of Monticello, IL and grandson Dakota Hale of Champaign, IL, brothers Jay (Thaila) Hale and Jeff (Frances) Hale, and sister Janet Carr all of Windsor, IL. Jim enjoyed working on cars, mostly Mopar cars. His family was his pride and joy and he enjoyed getting together for family dinners with his family. He was preceded in death by his father, nephew Tyler Carr and brother-in-law Michael Carr.
