James D. ‘Jim’ Saddoris, 80 of Sullivan, formerly of Findlay, passed away at 9:43 a.m. Wednesday (April 13, 2016) in St. Mary’s Hospital, Decatur. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the Reed Funeral Home, Sullivan, with Pastor Rena Whitcher officiating. Friends will be received following the service. Private burial will be at a later date in the Findlay Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Findlay United Methodist Church. Online condolences may be sent to the family at reedfuneralhome.net. Jim was born September 15, 1935 in Champaign, the son of Allen H. and Mabel E. Williamson Saddoris. He married Jolene Schwartz on November 14, 1954 in Bethany. He farmed in the Findlay area for fifty three years. He also did restorations of oil paintings and did framing for R. M. Martin Jewelry in Decatur. He was a member of the Findlay United Methodist Church and a Sunday School teacher. Jim was a Findlay Fire Department Trustee, served on the Findlay School Board and the Bethany Grain Elevator Board. Jim played softball for the Perfect Window Cleaners and the Taylor Window Cleaners Fast Pitch Softball Teams. Surviving are his wife Jolene of Sullivan; children, Ron Saddoris and fiancé Debbie Williams of Shelbyville, Brenda Saddoris of Moweaqua, Michelle (Brian) Zindel of Moweaqua and Craig (Michele) Saddoris of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Tonya (Mark) Weineke, Travis (Brooke) Ulmer, Kristin (Adam) Hardesty, Cade Saddoris, Zach Williams, Courtney Williams, Ryan (Annie) McClain, Megan Zindel, Brett Zindel, Madison Foor, Myles Foor, Dallas Foor, Cole Johnson and Corrin Saddoris and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Wayne, Don and Richard ‘Dick’ Saddoris.
