Richard "Dick" Franklin Winings, 78 formerly of Findlay passed away to be with his Lord Jesus Christ Saturday, June 4, 2016 at his son's home in Vonore, TN. Born July 18, 1938 in Findlay he was the son of Virgil and Dollie (Johnson) Winings. Richard was a faithful Christian man and witness. Devoted to family and friends. He was a faithful provider to family working at Caterpillar Tractor Co for 33yrs, helping rural farmers planting and harvesting crops. He was a man of great integrity that you could bank on his word. He would give the shirt off his back and then some. He loved the outdoors in God's creation and was a lover of animals. He served God in singing, witnessing and doing mission trips. Richard was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Shelbyville and served in the Illinois National Guard. He married the love of his life Jean Pearl Byrley on August 14, 1960 in Findlay. Surviving are a son Dan (Mandy) Winings of Vonore, TN, Daughters Cindy Lucas, Theresa (Rick) Williams both of Shelbyville, Sherry Shuff of Findlay. Grandchildren Josh Winings of Sullivan, Coy Williams of Findlay, Aaron Lucas of Shelbyville, Wittney Burns of Bethany, Amy Winings of Vonore, TN, Caleb Williams of Shelbyville, Zack Winings of Vonore, TN, Jacob Williams of Vandalia, Isaiah Williams of Shelbyville, Misty Winings of Vonore, TN and 32 great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, brother Leroy Winings, sister Mary Bricker, grandson Eric Lucas, two great grandchildren and his loving wife Jean. Visitation will be 4pm until 7pm Friday, June 10, 2016 at Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Findlay. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Findlay Cemetery.
