Robert Jackson (Bob) Hazen, 77, of Fort Worth, Texas, and formerly of Shelbyville, Illinois, died Wednesday, March 14, 2018.
Born on Dec. 25, 1940, in Shelbyville, he graduated from Shelbyville High School in the class of 1959.
Bob never knew a stranger and enjoyed traveling and RV camping after his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Wesley Hazen; his wife, Deborah Reynolds Hazen; his mother, Helen Moore Robertson Hazen; sisters Shirley Hazen Alderson, Barbara Hazen Steigerwald, Annie Hazen, Mary Landers, Freida Hish; brothers Joe, Herschel, and Herbert Robertson.
He is survived by his spouse, Lenora Quickley Hazen of Fort Worth; his daughters, Uvanna Hazen McKinney (Bill) of Lakewood, Illinois, and Robin Hazen Black-Rubenstein (Alan) of Edwardsville, Illinois, their mother Grace Monts (Bob) of Carlinville; grandchildren, Michael Owens, Elizabeth
Ragan (Dustin), Danielle Schroeder (Shawn) and Sarah LoBue (Lee), all of Illinois. DeDe Hazen Burke (Daniel), Taylor Marie Hazen and their mother Misty Hazen Pierot of Texas. He also leaves 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends that were like family to him.
A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 28 at 10 a.m. at St Bonifice Church, 110 N. Buchanan, Edwardsville, Illinois. The Very Reverend Jeffrey Goeckner, VF will preside.
