Robert "Bob" E. Kirk, 84, of Shelbyville passed away at his home Saturday, December 31, 2016. Born November 13, 1932 in Alton, IL he was the son of Ralph Z and Mildred (Foor) Kirk. Bob drove a truck most of his life and retired from Southland Corporation (7-Eleven). A United States Army veteran Bob served during the Korean Conflict and spent several years in the National Guard. He was a member of the Shelbyville American Legion Post 81 and the VFW. After his retirement, he enjoyed traveling all over the country attending the reunions of the 40th Infantry Division of Korean War Veterans and wintering in Florida and Arizona. Surviving are his five children Mike Kirk of Sullivan, Susan Durbin of Shelbyville, Cheryl Williams of Houston, TX, Brandi (Joe) Crum of Norco, CA., Bryan (Tara) Kirk of Chatham; 12 grandchildren Traci (David) Waltz, Adam Lesley, Michael (Marci) Kirk, Alyssa (Johnathan) Scott, Erin (Tim) Fricke, Sara (Tony) Schultz, Stuart (Tara) Durbin, Ashley Crum, Kyle Crum, Brandon Crum, Ava Kirk, Hayden Kirk; 8 great-grandchildren Zachary, Shelby, Madelyn, Emma, Macie, Dylan, Crosby and Owen; one sister Louise Elder of Austin, TX. Preceding him in death were his parents, brother Lowell and sister Lila Cearlock. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Burial will take place at Mound Cemetery in Cowden.
