Ronald R. Blickem, Sycamore IL, passed away suddenly on December 23rd, 2017. After graduating from Beecher City High School (IL), he attended Sparks College where he earned a certificate as a court reporter. Ron went on to serve in the Air National Guard from 1964-1970. After completing his active duty training he was appointed as a court reported for McLean County and resided in Bloomington, IL. He married Pamela (Smith) Blickem in 1966 and moved to Sycamore where he worked as court reporter for the 16th Judicial Circuit for 34 years until his retirement in 2002.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela, four children, Jill (Ric) Lathrop, Emily (Chad) Cronauer, John Blickem (Cassie), and Laura (Matt) Hensley, seven grandchildren, and his two sisters, Kristi (Blickem) Kerr and Carole (Blickem) Wheeler. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ray F. Blickem, and June Kay Blickem.
Ron had many hobbies that included the outdoors, photography (especially of his 7 grandchildren), reading, and music. He will be remembered as an amazing husband, father, and grandfather.
The family will have an open visitation in Dutton Hall of the Federated Church in Sycamore from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, December 29th. Cremation will be handled by Finch Crematory.
