Thomas Carl Erwin, 61, of Gilbertsville, Kentucky, formerly of Shelbyville, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Banner Baywood Medical Center in Mesa, AZ.
Tom was owner of Kentucky Shores Family Fun Center and Zip Lines in Gilbertsville, Kentucky and owned Annie's Horse Drawn Carriages for 28 years in Paducah, Kentucky. Tom was a pioneer in the After Dinner Program in downtown Paducah in which he volunteered and organized events for 11 years. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in Shelbyville, IL and a graduate of Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor degree in Music. He taught music for 10 years throughout Illinois and was of the Christian faith.
Tom is survived by his husband, George Rexroad; a daughter, Amy Rexroad Glass and husband Kendall of Gilbertsville, KY; a grandson, Wyatte Weaver of Metropolis, IL; two sisters, Roberta 'Bobbi' Erwin Shultz of Carbondale, IL and Lorraine Erwin Manola and husband Bruce of Shelbyville, IL; two brothers, Don Erwin and wife Linda of Palatine, IL and John Erwin of Rutland, IL; nieces, Nichole Barnett and husband Doug and their children, Ethan, Nick and Jacob of Hudson, IL, Meaghan Morris and husband Chris and their children, Shelby and Sean of Riverton, IL, Heather Erwin Ritter and husband Travis and their children, Lilly, Daegon and Evalyn of Kingsland, GA; nephews, Tim Shultz of Washburn, IL, Casey Shultz and wife Jenna and their children, Brenna, Tucker, Bentley and McKenna of Goreville, IL, Rob Helton and wife Kara and their children, Olivia and Jackson of Taylorville, IL. Bobby Erwin and wife Consuelo and their children, Zack, Nate and Gaby of Palatine, IL, Jimmy Erwin of Romeoville, IL, Chad Erwin and Chris Erwin both of Shelbyville, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Carl Erwin and Norma Jean Rayburn Erwin.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2018 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah with Rev. Bobbi Shultz officiating.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until the service hour of 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2018 at the funeral home.
